This past Friday, in Kansas City, Missouri, Lisa Montgomery became the third woman on federal death row.  Lisa was convicted in October for the gruesome murder of Bobbie Jo Stinnett.  The 23-year-old woman was found strangled in her home in Skidmore, Missouri.  Bobbie’s womb was cut open and her unborn baby was missing.  An intense nationwide search and heavy media coverage followed her death.  Montgomery was found in Kansas along with Stinnett’s child, whom she was now claiming as her own.  It was discovered at trial that Montgomery had first contacted Bobbie on the Internet, through their mutual interest in breeding rat terrier dogs, and later went to Stinnett’s house.  What caused her to savagely murder the pregnant woman is still a mystery.  A jury convicted the 39-year-old woman and recommended the death penalty, which the judge imposed Friday.

This is sick.  I believe this woman is getting exactly what she deserves.  She should’ve been locked in a mental institution somewhere.  Luckilly, the baby survived.  It’s sad she’ll be in foster care since neither of her parents are here anymore.  It’s as if she doesn’t even have a consience.  She chuckled when police arrested her.  I normally don’t approve of the death penalty, but in this case I most certainly do.

A Wisconsin woman who was charged two weeks ago with having sex with a teenage boy was arrested again Tuesday when cops went to her residence and found her there with the child.  Jaime Foss, (age 31), was immediately jailed for violating her bail terms imposed after she was charged on March 19th with three counts of sexual assault of the child. Jaime was caught shortly before she was due in court on the original charges.  As part of her bail package, Foss was to have no contact with the boy.  Jamie and the teenager had sexual contact on several occasions in her home. On two dates, her kids were asleep somewhere else in the house. After the boy admitted to cops that he had sex with Foss, the woman acknowledged their contact when confronted by investigators.  She said that during the week of March 10, she met with the teenager to discuss their “relationship”.  She told cops that they decided that the boy could not “provide her with what she needs” and they would stop having sex until he turned 18. According to the court complaint, she recalled telling the boy to live his life for the next three years and if she is still single when he is eighteen they can start a “relationship”. If convicted of the sex assault charges, Foss could face a maximum of 40 years in prison on each felony count.

This is just foul.  This woman disgusts me.  She came on to that boy in church of all places, and doesn’t think she’s doing anything wrong.  It’s crazy how many cases there are like this every day.  Most times, statistically, the child is permanently traumatized and 9 times out of 10 will become a predator also.  I hope they do give her 40 years prison time, she deserves it.

Facing a life sentence, a man convicted in a drug case attacked a prosecutor in Federal District Court in Brooklyn on Tuesday.  Authorities say he attacked her with a razor he must’ve snuck into the courtroom.  The defendant Victor Wright, stood without handcuffs before Judge Frederic Block awaiting his sentence. Several feet away stood Carolyn Pokorny.  She is an assistant United States attorney who successfully prosecuted Block on drug charges in 2006.  He looked at the judge and he looked at Carolyn with complete rage in his face and just lunged at her with a razor  he must have gotten somewhere off his body. Court reporter Ronald Tolkin, quickly jumped on Mr. Wright as he savagly choked Ms. Pokorny but failed to cut her.  Wright claims that Carolyn had some type of personal vendetta against him and even framed him.  Victor was being held in the Metropolitan Detention Center.  The sentencing was delayed, and now he will definately face more charges.

Wow.  This story is unbelievable.  This man claims to be innocent, but does something that in turns makes him guilty.  His lawyer said Wright never spoke to him on the matter of Carolyn framing him and that it was news to everyone.  So if that’s the case, why wouldn’t he have brought it up to his own attorney.  Even if he was innocent, he dealt himself a horrible hand.  He acted a fool in a court of law (a federal court at that) and now any juror would see him as being guilty.  In my opinion, Victor was just mad that Carolyn caught and nailed him, so he wanted revenge.

A vast variety of pharmaceuticals have been found in drinking water that supplies at least 41 million Americans.  They range from antibiotics, anti-convulsants, mood stabilizers, to even sex hormones.  In the course of a five month inquiry, the associated press discovered that drugs have been detected in the drinking water supplying of 24 major metropolitan areas — from Southern California to Northern New Jersey, from Detroit to Louisville, Kentucky.  The presence of so many prescription drugs, in so much of our drinking water, is heightening worries among scientists about long term consequences to human health.  Recent studies (which have gone unnoticed by the general public) have found alarming effects of pharmaceuticals to human cells and wildlife.  These drugs are getting into the water because people take pills.  (well not exactly)  Their bodies absorb some of the medication, but the rest of it passes through and is flushed down the toilet.  The wastewater is treated before it is discharged into resevoirs, rivers, or lakes.  Then, some of the water is cleansed again  at drinking water treatment plants and piped to consumers.  Most treatments don’t remove all drug residue.

This story is crazy.  It’s making me wonder what is really going into our bodies.  More people should become aware of this infestation.  Again, this may be really unhealthy for us and we don’t know exactly what it’s doing to our insides.  It’s kind of like taking another person’s prescribed medication- YOU SHOULDN’T.

Last October, Horst and Luisa Ferrero took their 3-year-old son Sebastian in for a medical exam.  Two days later, he was dead.  Sebastian was killed by a series of medical errors.    It began with a massive drug overdose (which caused him to go brain dead).  Prior to the exam, Sebastian was an intelligent, healthy, and happy child.  This took place in Gainesville, Florida.  The hospital admits to their mistake and never intended to cause any harm.  Investigators came to find out that there was another case just like this one at that hospital when a 5 year old boy told his mother that his brain was on fire.  Luckily he lived  (though damaged).  

Sebastian’s parents have formed the Sebastian Ferrero foundation.  They did it in hopes of preventing similar accidents.  They plan to give their foundation, the $850,000 settlement they received from Shands Healthcare at the University of Florida.  Within the next five years, the Ferreros hope to build a $300 million children’s hospital in Gainesville.  

I truly believe that this was a tragedy that could’ve been avoided.  Had the hospital checked on Sebastian like the parents requested, he might still be alive today.  This is why people are so skeptical now a days about where they receive treatment.  One liitle mistake could cost someone their life.  I don’t believe doctor’s fully comprehend that or they just don’t care.  I say this because there are hundreds of cases like this one reported, where a doctor’s neglegence resulted in a fatality.

The Queens livery cab driver who was hailed as a hero for rescuing an abandoned baby was exposed as a liar today.  45-year-old Klever Sailema helped concoct a plan to ditch the adorable baby, who was born to a 14-year-old girl (her name wasn’t revealed).  Sailema,(who had even accepted a reward from fellow livery drivers for his “good deed”) was arrested early today along with a woman, who helped carry out the misguided ruse, and another man, who lied to cops.  Police are hunting for the baby’s father who sources say allegedly participated in the scheme.  The search for the baby’s mother ended late last night when the 21-year-old sister of the baby’s father walked into the police station and confessed to the scheme.She told cops that she and her brother hatched the plot out of desperation.  They then enlisted Sailema in the conspiracy.  They are all expected to be arraigned later today.  I believe those people deserve to get the maximum sentence.  They ripped a new mother away from her child.  It’s horrible and I don’t understand how the cab driver took praise for something like that, knowing what he’d done.

The body of supermodel Katoucha Naine was found Thursday in the Seine River, near the Garigliano bridge in Paris .  She was one of the first African women to attain international stardom as a model.  Not only that, she was a vocal opponent of female genital mutilation.  An autopsy showed no signs of foul play, pointing to the possibility that the 47-year-old may have fallen accidentally into the river.  She had been missing since January and was last seen returning home from a party. She lived in a houseboat near Paris’ Alexandre III bridge, and her handbag was later found on the boat.  Katoucha’s death is a tragedy.  It’s very depressing because of how much she went through in her life.  That woman had many obstacles to overcome in her life, and it’s sad to see the way she went out.

Rapper Terius Gray, better known as Juvenille, is trying his best to cope with a very painful loss.  His 4 year-old daughter Jelani; her mother,  39 year-old Joy Deleston; and the woman’s daughter Micaiah, 11, were gruesomely murdered.  Their bodies were found Thursday night in their home.  17-year-old Anthony Tyrone Terrell Jr. is being held in the DeKalb County jail, charged in the deaths of his mother and siblings at the home near Lawrenceville, outside Atlanta.  He was arrested Friday.  Terrell was taken to jail in neighboring DeKalb County to avoid any potential conflict because Deleston worked for Gwinnet County as a sherrif’s deputy.  It is unknown whether or not her service weapon was used in the slayings.  Because of his age, prosecutors cannot seek the death penalty against Terrell.  However, a preliminary hearing will be held next week in Gwinnet County Supreme Court.  Noone has spoken to Juvenille in regards to the killings, which is completely understandable.  Reporters are seeking interviews with the rapper to hear his feelings on the matter.  In my opinion, they need to lay off instead of further traumatizing him.  Right now he is relaxing and trying to grasp everything that has happened.  Anytime you have a situation like that, it is shocking.
